The Algarve
An incredible total of forty-two 9-hole or 18-hole layouts can be played at twenty-five different golf clubs within the Algarve zone of the Federação Portuguesa de Golfe and more than half the courses strung out along this 100-mile southern-facing coast feature in our Portuguese ranking list of top courses in the country. Top courses include Quinta do Lago in the east and further west along the coast, Palmares and the Amendoeira (Faldo) layout.

Onyria Marinha, Cascais
Designed by the legendary American architect Robert Trent Jones, the 18-hole golf course stretches between Cascais and Cabo da Roca for a total of 5870 metres. This par 71 combines the challenge of the golf course created by the architect with the scenic beauty that surrounds it, where the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra Mountains surround players on a course that is intended to be both a moment of absolute pleasure and tranquility as well as an unforgettable and challenging experience for golfers.

Batalha, São Miguel Island
On a lucky day, golfers may see whales, dolphins and porpoises frolicking in the sea alongside the Batalha course on the Azorean island of São Miguel. This course, designed by Cameron Powell in 1986, offers 27 holes of golf laid out over 120 ha, with its magnificent setting, nestling on the skirts of the surrounding hills and with sweeping views to the ocean – has large flowing greens, wide and generous fairways and sinuously contoured bunker.
