Day 1 | Porto

Day 2 - 4 | Into the Wild Douro

Collect your rental car or elevate your trip with a private driver. As you leave Porto behind, journey into the breathtaking Douro Valley, one of the world's oldest wine regions and a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Winding roads reveal terraced vineyards, dramatic river vistas and timeless villages, offering one of Portugal's most spectacular drives.

Day 5 - 6 | The Wild Côa Valley

Leave the vineyards of the Douro behind and journey east into the remote Côa Valley, one of Portugal's last great wildernesses. Here, vast open landscapes, ancient river valleys and remarkable wildlife replace towns and villages, creating a destination that feels wonderfully untouched.

Your Côa Valley Experiences

Track the iconic Garrano horses as they roam freely through the hills alongside deer and birds of prey, before exploring the Paul de Toirões Rewilding Area, where you'll discover how one of Europe's most ambitious rewilding projects is restoring native habitats and bringing wildlife back to the Côa Valley.

Journey back more than 20,000 years on a guided 4x4 excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage rock art sites of Canada do Inferno, Penascosa and Ribeira de Piscos, home to remarkable open-air Palaeolithic engravings. As evening falls, enjoy a seasonal dinner beneath the stars at WilderCamp before joining expert naturalists for a fascinating night-time butterfly monitoring experience, revealing the rich biodiversity that emerges after dark.

Day 7 - 9 | Peneda-Gerês National Park Adventure

Escape to Portugal's finest national park, where dramatic mountains, ancient forests and crystal-clear rivers create one of the country's most spectacular landscapes. Over the coming days, discover hidden waterfalls, mountain views and wild landscapes.

Over the coming days, discover hidden waterfalls on guided hikes, swim in pristine mountain lagoons, and venture deep into the park on a private Jeep safari with a gourmet picnic surrounded by nature. For those seeking more adventure, enjoy e-bike rides, canoeing or kayaking on the tranquil Caniçada Reservoir offer a different perspective of this wild landscape.

Day 10 - 11 | Braga & Guimarães

Today you'll leave the wild landscapes of the Côa Valley behind and enjoy a scenic drive west towards Braga, passing through some of Northern Portugal's most picturesque countryside. Along the way, you may wish to break up the journey with an optional stop in one of the region's charming historic towns:

Choose to wander the colourful streets of Barcelos, famous for its lively market and the legendary Portuguese Rooster; stroll across the medieval bridge and riverside promenades of Ponte de Lima, Portugal's oldest town; or explore the elegant coastal city of Viana do Castelo, with its maritime heritage, beautiful old town and spectacular hilltop sanctuary overlooking the Atlantic. Arrive in Braga in the afternoon, ready to discover Portugal's oldest city.

Day 11: Departure
